Hello, I'm Ofme

Hi, welcome to my very first blog here at I Am Ofme.*

This post will be brief, but I'm basically just trying to express the purpose and aims of this blog. To be honest, I'm not sure yet. I think I am in the midst of an existentialist crisis, and I'm hoping that blogging will help me sort it out. I really don't expect anyone to be reading this, but I once posted a vlog on youtube purely for my family and friends, and had 2 subscribers within the hour, so I know stuff gets around, even if you don't mean them to.

So, why the existentialist crisis you ask? Well, I suppose I'm having a "quarter life crisis", as John Mayer so eloquently put it. I'm on the verge of finishing my first degree, and need to decide what the hell I'm doing with my life. However, I don't think that the career issue is really the source of my troubles. I believe that there are any number of worthy goals and ambitions that I could have, both for my career and outside of it. I'm not sure where to put my values: choose a life that is comparably comfy at the risk of the coveted "fulfillment", or a life of struggle for a cause greater than myself, undoubtedly "fulfilling" but decidedly less comfy.

And if I do decide to sacrifice my small and insignificant life for a cause, which one shall it be? There are so many things in this world that are seriously fucked up (pardon me) and could do with a bit of sacrificing for. Women's rights, the environment, animals, politics, education of others, poverty, global health...

Anyways, I'll elaborate more on my aims at another time. It's late, and I'm all exis-austed!

*I wanted to think of a really good blogger pseudonym, so that I could take part in this wonderful blog-o-sphere, but unfortunately all the good ones are taken. It's really hard to think of some good original-yet-expressive titles.
